Once a new planet or asteroid had been discovered by the Solar Sail Ship pilots, the (EVS1) Environmental Sampler Ships were dispatched to investigate the new environment for compatibility with minimal human life support standards.
Hundreds of the ships would spend months scouring the planet surface for suspect toxins in the atmosphere. Each ship, crammed with sensors and analysing equipment, had a crew of two - a pilot and a planetologist. |
