| Due to the crew consisting entirely of robots and computerised nav systems, this was by far the cheapest method of interplanetary shipping. No life insurance was required reducing costs greatly.
The essence of the craft was its eight additional superthruster engines which ensured the TREC was one of the fastest ships to travel the galactic shipping lanes. One would assume that robot computer systems would be failsafe. Unfortunately, pirate signal jamming technology interfered with some of the less expensive components with the result that a number of these ships were hijacked. As there were no humans on board, defence systems were minimal. Hijacking took place frequently. |
